Privacy policy
This draft describes how AutoViax intends to handle personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. It must be reviewed by a qualified adviser before AutoViax is offered publicly.
Who we are
AutoViax provides software to vehicle-rental businesses. Each business decides what renter information it records and is responsible for its own use of that information. AutoViax stores that information on the business's behalf.
Information we collect
- Business account details: names, email addresses, phone numbers and business details.
- Marketplace enquiries: the name, contact details and message you submit, which are passed to the business you contacted.
- Records businesses keep about their renters, vehicles, rentals and payments.
- Technical information such as IP addresses for security and abuse prevention.
What we do not collect
AutoViax does not process card payments and never asks for card numbers, CVV codes or online banking passwords.
Identity documents and vehicle photos
A rental business may ask you to upload identity documents (for example for a 100-point ID check) and may photograph the vehicle at pickup and return. These files are held for that business only, are visible only to its staff with document access, and every view is logged. Ask the business how long it keeps them and to delete them when they are no longer needed.
Security
Each business's records are isolated from other businesses. Identity documents, vehicle inspection photos and agreements are stored privately and are never available at public links. Access by AutoViax staff is limited, logged and reviewed.
